Level 2 Award in Animal Transport by Road
Become qualified in animal transport by road with a recognised Level 2 qualification. The course is based around the movement of:
- Farm animals (cattle, sheep, pigs)
- Birds (poultry)
- Horses
It covers transportation over 65km on short (up to, and including, eight-hour) road journeys.
To transport animals by road, you will need to understand key regulations and ensure that any animals you transport are properly protected.
This course will assess that knowledge by means of an exam and will lead to a nationally recognised Lantra Awards Level 2 qualification.
Who should attend this course?
Anyone using road vehicles for transporting live vertebrate animals in connection with an economic activity and market, and for assembly / collection centre staff handling animals.
For example:
- Livestock drivers / carriers
- Farmers
- Smallholders
