Level 2 Food Safety in catering, retail, and manufacturing
The Level 2 Food Hygiene course (formerly called the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate) is designed to give food handlers an appreciation of good hygiene practices.
The course covers the following topics:
- Food poisoning
- Bacteriology
- Prevention of contamination and food poisoning
- Personal hygiene
- Premises, equipment and pest control
- Cleaning and disinfection
- Legislation
Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food.
Assessment is through a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course.
Who should attend this course?
All food handlers, or as refresher training for those whose last course was 3 or more years ago.
